Todayā€™s national title-deciding match between Uruguayan powers Nacional and PeƱarol turned ugly as a penalty in extra time launched Estadio Centenario into havoc with PeƱarol hooligans destroying the stadium and fighting riot police.

Nacional had previously scored off a corner kick in the second half of extra time, forced when the score remained 2-2 after 90 minutes. PeƱarol fans attacked cops by ripping the seats out of the stadium and hurling them like frisbees.

Nacional ended up not scoring on the penalty, anyway; PeƱarol keeper Pablo Migliore stopped the shot.
