England Overcome Potential Bucknering To Beat India For Women's Cricket World Cup Title

England overcame Jenny Gunn dropping what should have been the match’s final out when Anya Shrubsole bowled out India’s Rajeshwari Gayakwad to claim the women’s cricket World Cup.

India needed 11 runs on 10 balls before Gunn’s blunder, meaning the championship was very much in reach. But Shrubsole shook off her teammate’s mistake to bowl out Gayakwad on the very next delivery.

It’s England’s fourth women’s World Cup championship; India had been seeking its first.
